Machines and Measurement

Nanofactory’s Huddersfield lab, based at one of 14 Centres of Industrial Collaboration (CICs) within Yorkshire universities, specialises in precision technologies and is widely-regarded in terms of both resources and team expertise, as the best research facility of its type in the UK and one of the top three in Europe.

Based at University of Huddersfield’s Centre for Precision Technologies (CPT) this lab features three specialist research groups and works with major multi-national companies.

Additional expert labs in York and Sheffield also work at the forefront of this research area. York JEOL Nanocentre is a world-class research centre for precision technologies, which represents a major collaboration between the University of York and JEOL, who are world leaders in electron optics. The Sheffield team within the Nanofactory cluster delivers analysis and consultancy services to any industry with materials-based needs, under the umbrella of another CIC, the Materials Analysis and Research Services Centre of Industrial Collaboration, based at Sheffield Hallam University.

Companies benefit from working with Nanofactory because, as a combined force in the field of engineering measurement, we provide a successful framework in collaborative research and business partnerships and have an excellent track record of working with industry in the UK manufacturing sector, as well as global companies.
